The professional adhesive LOCTITE 648 is used for bonding cylindrical components. The product cures without air access in the gap between the bonded metal surfaces, thus preventing the loosening of the joint caused by vibrations or shocks. Typical applications include bonding gears and chain wheels to gearbox shafts and also bonding rotors to electric motor shafts.
Additional advantages of the product include the ability to cure on passive materials such as coated metals or stainless steel, as well as the possibility of application on surfaces with slight contamination from oils, greases, cutting fluids, and other protective liquids.
