Loctite AA 319 - 0.5 ml Mirror Adhesive

Loctite 319 is a special adhesive for bonding and repairing rearview mirrors by directly gluing the metal mirror holder to glass (Glass-Metal kit). This excellent yet affordable adhesive compensates for different thermal expansions, making it ideal for other automotive repairs as well: bonding metal brackets and hinges on pivoting windows, mounting radio or telephone antennas on glass, etc., where it is necessary to bond metal and glass:

• quick and easy installation,
• high strength of glass and metal bond,
• short fixing time (only about 30 seconds),
• adhesive kit - tube with adhesive + pad with activator on a blister.

Instructions for use of Loctite 319:

• Use the adhesive only at temperatures between 15 °C and 25 °C; otherwise, damage caused by thermal expansion of the windshield may occur.
• Trim the pad into the shape of the rearview mirror base or antenna - do not touch the bonding surfaces with fingers.
• Remove the base (if easily detachable) from the mirror holder and mark the exact position of the mirror/antenna on the opposite side of the window.
• Remove old adhesive from the window and the mirror/base with a razor blade or knife, ensuring the surface is clean, dry, and free of grease.
• Cut off the top of the adhesive tube and apply it evenly to the entire bonding surface of the base using the nozzle. The recommended gap size is 0.1 mm. If the gap is larger (maximum up to 0.5 mm), or faster curing is required, activator 7649 should be applied to both surfaces. The parts must then be assembled immediately (within 1 minute).
• Place the pad with activator on the bonding surface of the base with adhesive.
• Ensure the base is in the correct position and immediately press it onto the pre-marked spot on the windshield.
• Press firmly and hold for at least 30 seconds. Excess product can be wiped off with an organic solvent.
• Allow the adhesive to cure for a minimum of 15 minutes. Full strength is achieved within 24 to 72 hours after assembly (depending on gap size, material, and environmental conditions).

Loctite 319 cures in the gap between the bonded surfaces with the help of activator product 7649.
